Reminder Sheep Ireland Industry Meeting

Takes place next Wednesday 18th April and kicks off at 10.45am. It will focus on the main research involved in the national sheep breeding improvement program. See here for further details and how you can book your place.

Date for your Diary

Teagasc are hosting Sheep 2018 Farm to Fork event in Teagasc Athenry on July 7th. Sheep Ireland will be in attendance in the Breeding Village and it’ll prove to be an event not to be missed!

 

April 30th Deadline is fast approaching

Pedigree ram breeders must enter their lambing data onto the Sheep Ireland database by April 30th. Any lambs entered after this date will not receive genetic evaluations in 2018. Contact us if experiencing any difficulties.

Sheep Ireland Board Meeting

Board representatives met last Wednesday (5th April). Many important issues were discussed on the day including;

  • CPT Lambing
  • CPT Ram selection
  • Upcoming Sheep Industry Meeting
  • LambPlus Programme and participation
  • Muscle and fat scanning

Breeders will be kept up to date with any new developments and we will be circulating letters regarding muscle and fat scanning, genetic linkage and the LambPlus Sale in the coming weeks.
