Two more OviData flocks were visited by Teagasc and Sheep Ireland Technicians since last week. The third flock visited was that of John Prendergast in County Mayo Friday last. While visiting flocks, tissues samples for DNA extraction were collected along with phenotype’s such as lameness, body condition score (BCS) and dag scores taken. Once the DNA is extracted from the tissue samples, the results will be used for parentage verification and for further research. Pictures of John Prendergast’s flock visit can be seen in the gallery below.
The fourth flock visited on Thursday was that of John O’Connell in County Leitrim.
