Sheep Ireland will be hosting the Multi-Breed Hill Ram Sale in Manorhamilton Mart on Friday evening, 10^th of October at 7 pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for hill group members who have made significant efforts in driving genetic progress in the hill sector over the past few years.

Only breeders who are members of one of the listed hill ram breeding groups will have their entries accepted.

The following criteria apply to each ram:

Breeders can enter up to 4 rams per breed, per flock. 

A hill breed (Blackface or Cheviot).

The breeder must be a member of a relevant breeding group for the rams they are entering.

DNA Sire verified.

Scrapie type: 1 – 2 – 3.

Any age.

Pass a physical examination on the day of the sale.

 

During the physical examination rams will be assessed on their mouth, testicles, feet and any other physical defects. Online bidders are expected making this examination of significant importance, and any rams found to be physically incorrect will not be allowed into the sale. Department tag numbers (NSIS) on rams will be checked on the day to ensure they correspond with the catalogue and entry forms.

Entries are now open. Submit your entries in as soon as possible. Entry closing date is Monday October 6^th at 1 pm.

Any changes to entries can be made through your online account or by email or calling us directly up to this date.

 

There are 3 way in which you can enter rams:

1. Login to your own Sheep Ireland account and enter through the online entry option.
2. Send your Email to [email protected], with your Name, Herd Number, and the full Department tag numbers (NSIS) of your rams.
3. Call us with your entries on 023 882 0451.

 Entering the Sheep Ireland Hill Ram sale through your online Sheep Ireland account:

Step 1 – Sign into your account (f you are unaware of your login details you may use the forgot password option or contact Sheep Ireland for details).

Step 2 – On your home page, a yellow banner will be visible. Click Blue button to view your ram inventory.

Step 3 – Click ‘Select’ on the right of the rams you wish to enter. Then click ‘Proceed’ on the top right of the page.

Step 4 – Comments can be entered to the right, or if you entered the wrong animal, it can ‘removed’. Order in which rams can enter the ring can be adjusted here. Then click ‘Proceed’.

Step 5 – You will see ‘Sale Term & Conditions’, read these and click ‘Agreed’ then click ‘Submit Entries’.
