At the recent ICBF and Sheep Ireland Genetics Conference (ISGC) which took place on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th December in the Hudson Bay Hotel, Athlone, Eamon Wall of Sheep Ireland presented a poster on the OviData project. OviData is an exciting project funded by the European Innovation Partnership fund administered by the Irish department of agriculture. The project aims to accelerate the rate of genetic gain in the Irish sheep industry through the application of innovative genomic technologies to commercial flock performance recording, thus increasing the productivity and profitability of the sector.
