Flock visits being replaced by flock calls!

As mentioned last week Sheep Ireland has worked proactively to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity, with top priorities given to the well-being of our colleagues, public health and seamless continuation of services. Staff are now working remotely from their homes to ensure social distancing and we can continue to operate our full range of services with the exception of  LambPlus flock visits conducted by Sheep Ireland’s David Coen. In the interest of Sheep Ireland staff, breeders and public health, Sheep Ireland have put a temporarily suspended farm flock visits. We will no longer be calling to farms until such a time is advised by government officials.

However to make the best out of this unprecedented situation, David Coen will be making daily calls to LambPlus breeders and is available via mobile to answer any queries you may have or have had with regards to flock visits. On the calls, David will be covering the issues relating to data collection and advising on ways to improve data efficiency and quality, similar to what is carried out at the end of a flock visit. David will also be advising breeders on various ways of improving their Data Quality Index’s (DQI’s)  and any other queries breeders may have. Sheep Ireland would like to apologize for the inconvenience of temporary suspension of flock visits and hope they will resume in the coming weeks.

Any queries can be emailed to [email protected] or telephone call 023 882 0451. Thank you.
