Kevin McDermott Transitions to a New Role at ICBF, Leaving Sheep Ireland on a Positive Note

Sheep Ireland announces today that Kevin McDermott, the Sheep Ireland Manager, will be stepping down from his current position to pursue an exciting opportunity as the HerdPlus Manager at the ICBF.

Kevin has been an integral part of the Sheep Ireland team, contributing significantly to the organisation’s success over the last 10 years.

During his six-year tenure as Sheep Ireland Manager, Kevin McDermott has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s goals and objectives. His dedication, expertise, and leadership have been instrumental in driving innovation within the sheep breeding sector and fostering positive relationships with Irish breeders and industry stakeholders. The introduction of Across-breed Genomic evaluations, a doubling in the number of LambPlus flocks and the inclusion of the Genotyped Ram Task in the Sheep Improvement Scheme are some of the main highlights.
