Sheep keepers are legally obliged to count the number of sheep on their holding each year and submit the details to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, even if no sheep are present.
The annual count should be completed on the 31st December 2025 with postal returns received by the 30th January 2026, or if submitting online, by the 14th February 2026 via AIM Services on MyAgFood.ie.
