Where can I download & update the App?

The App is designed to make flock recording and genetic decision-making easier for sheep farmers across Ireland, allowing breeders to record key on-farm events in real time and access important flock information directly from their phone.

Through the app, breeders can:
- Record lambing events, lamb details and mortality
- Enter lamb weights at key stages (birth, 40, 100 and 150 days)
- Maintain an up-to-date flock inventory
- View animal information linked to the Sheep Ireland database
- Improve Data Quality Index (DQI) scores by recording information accurately and on time
The app supports breeders participating in Sheep Ireland programmes such as LambPlus, pedigree recording and genomic services, helping ensure that the data used in genetic evaluations (€uroStars) is accurate, timely and reflective of on‑farm performance.

When LambPlus breeders initially sign in to the new app version they will immediately see we have now included the flock DQI scores on the homepage of the app.
Under the DQI flock scores you will see the date that your DQI and flock details were last updated from the live database.
“Refresh” App button
The Sheep Ireland app has the ability to function when not connected to the internet, because of this the app stores flock data from when you last opened the app and were connected to the internet. This does mean that the app data can be slightly behind the live database.
To download more current data from the live database e.g. updated genomic evaluations for animals record cards, breeders can select the “Refresh” button under the DQI score. When you click the refresh button you will see a warning indicating this action may take some time, this is depending on the size of the flock as larger flocks will take longer to load, if you are happy to continue click “Proceed”.
Breeders will only have the option refresh app data when connected to the internet.
Date of inspection and filters for Health and Weights screen:
This update will allow breeders to record their weights for different weight dates.
Once you visit the Health and Weights screen of the app you will see the inspection date is automatically populated with todays date on your phone. If you are recording weights on the same day as you weighed animals you can click record here to record weights for todays date. If you want to change the date to an earlier inspection date simply click on the date and select the date of weighing from the calender.
Once you have selected your weigh date, you will be able to filter the list of animals appearing. This will allow for a quicker selection of animals when recording weights.

Clicking this link will you bring you to your phones preferred web browser where you will be able to log into your Sheep Ireland account.
