CPT Preparation

Sheep Ireland is in the final stages of preparing for the 2017 CPT Lambing season, with contractors and students forming the labour required to give the 24 hour cover necessary in each of our 5 CPT flocks. This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience of a very compact lambing period and an intensive data recording project. If anyone is interested in gaining this type of experience you’re advised to contact Sheep Ireland next week as we are fast approaching lambing time.

UCD Careers Day

Sheep Ireland and ICBF attended the UCD agricultural careers day on Wednesday 22nd February providing students with an opportunity to network with potential employers. Sheep Ireland received great interest at the event, highlighting the interest that graduates have in both sectors and more importantly in what they are both trying to achieve.

It was great to hear the Minister of Agriculture Michael Creed speaking with such enthusiasm about the prospects within the agricultural sector and it was a privilege to be part of this event. Sheep Ireland gave a presentation to Agriculture students from the SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) visiting Kildalton Agricultural College, Teagasc.
