Flocks Visits are Back!

Flocks Visits are Back!

Flock visits were suspended in mid-March when the Covid-19 restrictions were introduced and have  recommence since June 11th. Sheep Ireland’s David Coen had phoned over 200 LambPlus flocks whilst the flock visits were suspended to get feedback from breeders and to offer advice on data collection.

A flock visit at this time of year includes a full flock assessment, where all the ewes and lambs in the flock are weighed and scored for body condition score, lameness, dagginess and mastitis. All this data is recorded using the LambPlus app, and breeders will have the opportunity to try out the app on their own phones, if they wish. This data will help to increase the accuracy of your flock’s evaluation and identify high performing animals in your flock.

If you would like to have a flock visit please call David on 087 385 9122 or e-mail dcoen@sheep.ie and he will organise a date and time to suit you.

Below are some exceptional weights recorded while David was out and about this week!
