Learn about the SheepNet Project and take their short survey

SheepNet – Sharing Expertise and Experience towards sheep Productivity through NETworking

Teagasc are involved in a European wide programme called SheepNet which aims to improve sheep productivity through the exchange of scientific, technical and practical knowledge between all levels of stakeholders in the sheep industry.  SheepNet aims to improve reproduction, gestation and lamb survivability all of which are key determinants of flock profitability. SheepNet is open to all sheep producers and stakeholders from sheep producers to advisors and researchers.

Future improvements in sheep productivity and labour efficiency on farm will most likely include the use of modern technology such as electronic identification (EID), GPS and smart phones.  A survey has been developed by SheepNet to assess the level of use of EID technology among sheep producers and to assess farmer’s opinions on the use of EID, its potential benefits and its practicality for their enterprise.

The survey contains simple background questions such as flock size and farmer age as well as questions on EID use, benefits/limitations of EID on your farm and the reasons for implementing/not implementing EID to date.

The survey is completely anonymous and there are no right or wrong answers just your opinion.

We would be delighted if you would take five minutes to complete this survey by clicking on the link below.
